Chef Ranveer Brar presents his first book- ‘Come Into My Kitchen’
along with the unveiling of Culinary Palate Project (An art showcase inspired
by the book)
Food is the only
form of art that can be interpreted by all the senses ~ Chef Ranveer Brar
This
culinary master, an inspiration for many, has come together with a group of
artists in a rare collaboration to present his book a tad bit differently. A
celebration of art, food and culture! Culinary Palate Project, a
special art event will be unveiled by Chef Ranveer, at TAG on 13th December
3
artists, a photographer, an animator and a doodler will come together to create
art pieces via their respective medium of expression, inspired by
Come Into My Kitchen, Chef Brar's book. Curated by Rushina Munshaw
Ghildiyal the Culinary Palate project highlights creations by photographer
Anurag Banerjee, Animator Vikram Veturi, and 'foodler' Rushina herself. The
event will consist of an art showcase as well as an interactive ’Gourmart’ demo
by Chef Ranveer Brar.
The
aim of the Culinary Palate project is to create unique interpretations of
elements from Come Into My Kitchen. The artists in question are required to
create pieces inspired by the book. The creations could focus on the food or
interpretations of select recipes from the book, or an interpretation of any
favourite chapter. The projects produced for the Culinary Palate project will
be showcased at TAG gallery from 13th December on wards
"Art
and food are intertwined closely. Both at their most basic celebrate the idea
that what you do ultimately permeates everything that you are. I think that
without artists the world would dies. And all of us, painters, musicians,
poets, photographers and chefs, are a larger community of artists. We’re
creative, we work with our hands, we see the world in our own unique way and we
share what we see through our mediums. There is much to be said
about the correlation between culinary and artistic creativity" adds Chef
Ranveer Brar
"Come
Into My Kitchen is pioneering in more ways than one. It lays open the Chefs
craft. I wanted to make something that truly reflected Chef Ranveer's unique
culinary style which deconstructs ingredients and traditional culinary patterns
and reinterprets them in unique usually exciting new ways. Ranveer is an
artist, food is his medium. This collaboration is an act of hospitality and
generosity. With artist creating space within their spaces for other artists,
all doing something we’ve never done before. Projects like this go beyond the
individual to bridge many voices into one symphony. It’s been exciting to work
on something so creatively stimulating with such a fantastic group of talented
individuals." Adds Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal (curater and Foodler)
About
Come into my Kitchen
Come
into My Kitchen, published by Harper Collins, India is an invitation from Chef
Ranveer Brar to enter his world. His kitchen. join him on a journey from the
serpentine lanes of Lucknow to the streets of Boston to the sets of MasterChef.
No rules or conventions here, just plenty of colour and texture, aroma and
flavour, which merge into one beautiful dish after another. Redolent of
Ranveer’s love for local produce and spices, and enriched by meditations on
tastes and cuisines, this book is garnished with his unique, almost playful,
approach to cooking, eating and living.
