Salman Khan supports 18 International Children's Film Festival India


 


The 18th International Children’s Film Festival India (ICFFI), popularly known as The Golden Elephant, organized by the Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) has found a strong supporter in none other than Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

Salman Khan is extremely popular with children and supports many causes of children through his charity work. The superstar presented the film Chillar Party which was was adjudged the Best Hindi Film in the Asian Panorama section at the 17th Golden Elephant.


CFSI approached Salman Khan to schedule an appearance at the upcoming children's festival to be held in Hyderabad. His team corresponded promptly and said that Salman Khan was busy shooting a film and would not be able to attend it. To compensate for his absence, he offered to associate with the festival by recording an audio-visual clip and promoting the 18th edition of The Golden Elephant on his social networking pages on Facebook and Twitter which have millions of followers.

  

The clip which has Salman Khan talking about his love for children and his favourite children's films will be used during the promotional activities for the festival. Salman Khan also congratulated the CFSI team for promoting the cause of educative entertainment made for children and organizing the largest children’s film festival in Asia.

"Salman Khan was our obvious choice for a simple reason that children love him. Unfortunately, he wont be able to come for the 18 ICFFI due to his prior work commitments but he is kind enough to shoot a promotional AV for 18 ICFFI. We will play it at the festival." Dr.Shravan Kumar, Festival Director and CEO, CFSI.

The 18th International Children’s Film Festival India will be held in Hyderabad from 14th November (Children’s Day) to 20th November, 2013. The festival will showcase more than 200 movies from over 45 countries. Over 1.5 lakh child delegates from across the nation will be hosted at the festival.
